Naturally Pets case study
Naturally Pets came to us with some common website issues
The team at Naturally Pets Behaviour Consultants asked miggle to take a look at the usability of their website, along with a long overdue update to the content of their site. After a thorough investigation, the miggle team came to some constructive conclusions: we felt the content of the site was lovely, very engaging, but the build was basic and left Naturally Pets unable to update the website content in-house.
The site was built in frames with no flexible sizing. This meant that smaller web browser pages and monitor sizes would chop off sections of the text and photographs to make the site fit the screen, so many users had to awkwardly scroll across to look at the whole page. Another major issue with frames is that they are tricky to optimise for searches, scuppering Naturally Pets' chances of decent rankings on major search engines.
How did we improve their website?
We selected a bespoke range of tools and training for Naturally Pets:
- Rebuild of their original pages as a dynamic website - the new website works well in all the major browsers and on the majority of screens
- Transfer of all text and images into a simple, user-friendly content management system. Most importantly, we provided ample training to Naturally Pets so they can update and add new pages as and when they choose
- Online contact form, so potential clients can contact the team immediately for more information
- Web statistics reporting through Google Analytics - allowing Naturally Pets to track search terms and statistics, helping them with future marketing and positioning.
The miggle team checked over the original copy with search engine friendliness in mind. We also kitted out the site with a relevant privacy policy and terms of service. Last, but definitely not least, we ensured the rebuilt site was fully compliant with the W3C Accessibility Guidelines.
The final product looks very similar to the original, but for a relatively small outlay this website is now a powerhouse of functionality.
