working with us

miggle

We want to show you, right from the start, that you've made the right choice in deciding to work with our team here at miggle.co.uk.

First and foremost we want to win your business, deliver for you and retain you as a long-term miggle client, so we can help you build your business.

Specifying the work

At the beginning of any project, it's extremely important for all the parties involved to understand what is expected of one another.

As part of the initial process, we may ask you to fill in one of our briefing forms, detailing all the criteria for your project. We will use this document to provide you with an outline of the work, the timescales and stages involved and the associated costs.

Sometimes, the scope of projects will change beyond what we agree together initially. Before we begin your project, we'll agree with you in writing how we will deal with any unforeseen changes and any impact this has on timescales or costs, so everything will be clear upfront.

Making an order

Once you are ready to start, we'll ask you for a written purchase order, acknowledging our outline of the work, as well as any initial deposits or fees required. A contract and terms and conditions would be signed at this stage too. Once the work is completed, or key stages are met, we will generally expect payment on delivery, unless we have agreed specific credit terms up front.

Unless assigned by contract we reserve the right to work for people who you may consider competitors, but we will sign mutual non-disclosure agreements to underpin the high levels of confidentiality you can always expect from the miggle team.

Dependancies

During the progress of a project, you'll be depending on us to hit our deadlines. To achieve this, often we'll be relying on you to supply us with the information or assets we need to do the work. Please be aware that if we do not receive information or assets within a specified time period then this may impact on our ability to deliver to the agreed deadline.

We will always give early warning of when a deadline is in danger. Where significant delays occur, such that we're unable to deliver on the project at all, we reserve the right to invoice for the work we have been able to complete if no progress has been made for a period of 21 days.

Web development ownership

All code will reside on your servers; media assets we've created specifically for you (i.e. most graphics, video, audio) will be yours exclusively; your own exclusive assets and intellectual property will also remain your own - and you will be able to manage your site or application largely as you please.

Please remember that, from a technical perspective, most web site development is achieved by using freely available or third party code. In that respect, as standard, we only grant a licence for you to use the web site we build, rather than assign exclusive ownership, because this is not ours to grant.

In real terms, this has very little bearing on your site and how you manage it, but we can give you plenty more information on the legal aspects of the Internet if required. Some levels of exclusivity are achievable above and beyond this, but these tend to be very expensive and would need to be assigned by contract.
